Neighborhood Table is a vision of people coming together in a way that brings the best out of us.

Imagine a place set up solely to bring the best out of people by bringing them together. It would have to be inspiring, creative, meaningful, diverse, peaceful, and joyful. A sense of belonging in that place would require unwavering commitment to peacemaking, respect, and the best virtues of being human. We need that kind of place where we can stand, unashamedly, at our full height—a place where we can all “show up.”

Neighborhood Table will be that place.

Neighborhood Table is about making, well, a neighbor-hood—that’s different from having a “workshop,” a single “program,” or a one-off “conversation—it’s got to be on-going. Neighborhood Table is where crucial conversations take place, where we can learn from one another, where we can grow (up), where reconciliation and unexpected friendships happen. It’s the place that demonstrates what neighbor-hood can be.

Having worked together for years at crafting a sustainable and socially responsible plan, the founders of Neighborhood Table actually believe in this stuff, corny as it might sound to cynical ears. They really believe that magic happens when artists (of all kinds!) are in the house and when everyone’s creativity is sparked, in whatever ways that happens. Coffee, beer, wine, music, art, and atmosphere are the chosen social elixirs served by a staff that’s capable of facilitating the best conversations, leading awesome collaborations, and making the deepest connections. Peacemaking and belonging are magical, so we’re committed to them.

Neighborhood Table is so much more than a coffee shop and pub. As a 501c3 non-profit corporation, a drink here is not just a drink. It means something that happens from the inside-out: a commitment to neighbor-making and running a business in the most socially responsible (and caring) ways. Income is for making the good stuff happen in the world by inspiring and supporting good work—as local as the people sharing the table and as global as the folks who harvest the beans, grapes, and hops. The way we figure it, making neighbor-hood is so important that it should be sustainable and moral at the same time.

If any of this wakes up part of your soul, then be part of Neighborhood Table
